Just got my 400D today...

Was wondering if there is any official documentation on warrantys etc - I dont seem to have anything?

What does it look like?

Cheers,
Adam

PS - I ask this cause it looks like there is a dead pixel on the LCD screen....

Ok guys just found this on the Ebay auction listing.

All product sold through ------- are brand new products with 12 month manufacture guarantee. As an independent trade agency, the goods we sell origin from different countries/regions. It is possible that in some cases, customers can not get their local manufacture guarantee service, hereby, we provide 12 months seller guarantee for all products we sold within EU.

Looks like im covered then???

Canon's manufacturer warranty on camera bodies is not global, and only covers the country of origin. If your camera is not a UK model you may not be in luck. The stickers on the box should indicate which country/market the camera was destined for.

I'll dig out my (UK) box tonight and take a look. If there is no registration card/warranty booklet with your camera at all then I don't think you are going to have much luck.

if the camera is sourced and sold within the EU then you have a warrenty but to get no documentation in the box is a bit suspect. personally I would return it if they cannont provide such forms.

I think that basically means you can't send it directly to Canon UK but you have to send it to the seller, then they are going to send it to wherever the camera comes from?

EDIT: You can register your product for warranty online, and they don't ask you where you purchsed it from, but I'm not sure if they can tell by the serial number or not.

A few dead pixels on just the LCD screen will probably be claimed to be within manufacturing tolerances, I'm not sure you'll be able to get it replaced.
