Unfortunately you may be in a whole world of trouble here. Did you start it? or realise before you got that far.

If you did start it You will probably need quite a lot of new stuff including pumps, injectors etc etc

If its been driven, LR will want to replace pump, injectors, all the high pressure lines and filters...same as Jag.

They say it causes damage to the pump, but Im not convinced. If it was mine, and I assume its still under LR warranty, I would take it to an indy dealer, drain and flush the fuel system through and see how you go.

Hopefully any probs with the pump will occur whilst still covered and shoudnt be attributable to misfueliing.

Alledgedly.

Oh Paul, I feel for you.

I think it would be a good idea to find a local indy to drain the system, then the filters, clean out the fuel rail and coolers, then refill with fresh derv with a good fuel flush.
The first start will tell you if more is needed.

The dealers will always be cautious when doing this type of work as they will be liable if there is any come back later in the vehicles life.

The diesel is used as a lubricant in the fuel parts so if you run the car and the petrol reaches these parts it is likely that some damage has occurred.
The signs are what appears to be gold dust in the filter. This is the internal components breaking down!

Good Luck!

The longer you leave it the faster the petrol will destroy you fuel system.

I’ve wrong fuel my defender and drove home (3 miles) got back smelt petrel on my hands. Ow poo.

Drained the system of petrel and refilled with diesel and started, went well for the next 10K before i sold it. I know the system on your 2.7 is very clever and very sensitive but worth a shot with the indi garage.

Try contacting your insurance company. A colleague of mine did the same thing with a Mercedes and was quoted a similar figure. His insurance covered everything as it wasn't a mechanical breakdown due to component failure, but due to an "accident"

I had a colleague with a Jag S-Type diesel misfuel and come to a halt after a few miles. Amazingly the insurance company covered it.

I did the same thing. Actually drove 40 miles before the Rangie realised.

Drain, replace filters and hope. The cost for mine by a local garage was £400, i think he may have changed the fuel pump in that price as well.

Good luck. I will say mine has done 30k since my litle mistake..

Obviously happens a lot. I heard that 2008 model year has new type of filler that wont allow a petrol nozzle in ?
