Redlines at 16000 rpm..
But
all grunt below 15k though
Suggest first mod is to get a smaller front sprocket to make up for it.In all seriousness a very pretty bike - but why not get the R1 though?

...so what's your first modification then
First mod should be go back to the shop and order an R1. An R6 is a girly stablemate for a GT2

Only kidding, looks nice. Are you intending to track it?

Think you'll find the R6 laps marginally quicker than the R1.. due to quicker corner speed. Obviously depends on the track as well.
Have done more trackdays on bikes over the years, than in cars.. should be fun!

No mods required ? For what ?
If you intend to track it then I'd suggest:
- Braided lines
- Race pads
- New air filter
- Get it on a dyno (as they can be tweated slightly without power commander)
- Re-geared
Also,
- Suspension need setting up as standard is no good for track
I was told that front suspension is pretty damn good stock, however the rear is the area which lets it down & therefore getting it rebuilt or fitting an aftermarket unit is worthwhile.
Oh, and get rid of the cr@p rubber that it comes on (assuming its still Qualifiers).
£1000 will make it awesome

Ahem, actually it doesn't. Yamaha-ha are using redline as a selling point. IIRC the actual rev limit is <15k but the counter deliberately overreads.SM
