996 Cab Rear Windows

Guys & Gals,

Went on Hols a couple of weeks ago, and wanted to put the hard top on to store it all in the garage, but on putting the hardtop on, the rear windows wouldn't come up. Took the top off again, and put the softtop up and the windows worked fine. On putting the softtop back down and tried the rear windows - nothing. What gives ?? Is there a sensor for the rear windows when the roofs down ??

Poke your finger into the hole on the top of the windscreen that the hook goes into when you latch the roof.
Push and hold the microswitch in and then try the windows.

If they work, pack the hook or microswitch out with some felt as its not being pushed in far enough by the hard top latch.

If they don't work, I'd guess at the switch being faulty...

PS: the rear windows will not go up with the roof down... Thats normal...

MUPPET ALERT Then - I think in my haste just to store the top and car in the garage, I may have omitted to lock the middle hook in !!!! DOH !!!

I'll try it again when I get home tonight...

I'll get back under my rock now lol
