Second visit this year and although I really enjoyed last year's trip I don't think I got everything out of the experience that I could.
Travelled down in convoy - great
Razzed down Arnage highstreet on friday night - not big or clever
Roundabout at HA - had to be seen to be believed

Camping at BSJ this year but thing's I'm thinking about are:
Driving the circuit - or as much as possible
Seeing drivers parade
Spectating from more than just the grandstand or porsche curves (need to find the route to mulsanne to watch race at night)
Taking g/f for decent veggie food (I know - why take a veggie to France!) the price I'm paying for her not being able to take her hair straightners!!

Anyone else got anything that can be added to the list??

Take a right out of BSJ, head up the road until the end where there is a marshal, go behind the warehouses and then into the woods, head towards the sound of V8s.

You may get stopped half way down, in that case, jump over any of the bushes on the right hand side and head up off the road. It's harder that way but you don't get spotted by the ACO. It's all good fun though.

Arnage Corner at night is best.

Paulkk, Driving the circuit between roughly Tetre Rouge and the start of the Porsche Curves is not a problem up until Friday late afternoon BUT beware the whole place is crawling with rozzers who will delight in taking as many Euros as poss off you for speeding. Personally, and bearing in mind I go for the racing mainly, being trackside anywhere between 05:00 and 09:00 Sunday morning cannot be beaten. At that time it's always deadly serious stuff. R

You are obviously staying at the wrong place, we had hair straightners AND electric eyelash curler, last year hehe

Thank you SO much for that. That's not the kind of info I need - I now have to explain why I can't get a generator in the boot of a vx220!! or worse still why I don't have a bigger car or camper van.

Make sure you use the sh1thouse and showers early in the morning or last thing at night, during the day they're like the sweatboxes from an oriental prison camp!

Don't forget PH meeting at Arnage Corner on the circuit Friday morning about 11 a.m. then Great British Welcome at St. Saturin Friday afternoon / evening.

If you go to the Parade get into town early as apparently they are still doing the tram build at the moment so the roads are a nightmare. Parade starts and finishes from Pace du Jacobins in front of the Cathedral it officially runs from 6-7 p.m. but starts about 5 p.m. and seems to go on for hours!

Friday evening also a car show in cetre of Chateau du Loir a small town about 20 miles south of Le Mans which is a good place for a meal.

Pit Lane walk Friday afternoon.

Qualifying Thursday evening is also great.

Legends Race 10 o'clock (ish) Saturday morning.

Oh and there is allegedly a 24hr race starting 3 p.m. this year at the circuit on the Saturday!

I'd have said climb up the Welcome tower for a view of the pit-lane at midnight, but I seem to remember that (like most things old and concrete at Le Mans) the ACO have now knocked it down...

Take two 6 foot lengths of rope and an old swing seat, assemble your kit and secure it to the girders on the bottom of any of the Tribunes. You then have one of the best seats in the house at no cost (but don't fall off).

Chateau Du Loir - Charming town, but like everywhere in France don't expect them to serve you food between 2pm and 6pm...

Very true but we were staying at the hotel in the central square a couple of years ago and had a very acceptable meal in the square with the car show and fair going on in the square. The show included an Aston Martin DBR1S and a Ferrari 250 Testa Rosa from about 1958.....made my weekend just seeing these two.
