alternator belts

is it just me or do others have problems with their alternator belts making clicketyclick noises as they get older (hard spots apparently)?

I find i'm changing them every 3 or 4 months

My alternator belt does seem to be a bit noisy on my 93 4ltr, I have tried to find a replacement but HHC say Landrover have stopped doing them as have Unipart. Apparently spec. says 11.9 mm wide which is slightly bigger than the usual ones as stocked by Halfords et al. Tried one of the narrower ones from Halfords and it worked OK so I'm keeping that as an emergency spare and still looking for an original spec one. Anybody know where stocks them?

I bought one recently from Tower View Racing in North London (0208 452 6922).
Don't know how much it cost though- as they didn't have a price to hand and I just gave my credit card details.
