I used to find him very irritating, but I think he deserves credit for what he did with his F1 team, and relatively speaking they seemed to progress quite well. One might have thought that Ford/Jaguar would have been able to build on it rather better than they did, instead of which it seemed to fade away.Best wishes all,

Which planet do you live on?my mother used to live in the bahamas during the 1950's, she raced various cars and belonged to a racing club based in Nassau. Jackie Stewart was also a member and was totally rude and obnoxious most of the time. Not many people liked him, and these people all had money, so it wasn't jealousy... most probably had more money than him. He was really up himself because he thought he was above everybody else due to his racing career

Do they? What makes you say that - if so why do RBS use him as an ambassadorDumbartonshire garage-owner's son rising to be triple F1 champ, not to mention Olympic-standard clay pigeon shot and very successful multi-millionaire businessman? Must be doing something right...
I've always had respect for the guy. I've never met him, but an ex-boss of mine used to work for him. He still commands respect and kudos in the motorsport business. I admit he doesn't exactly come across as shy and timid, but he wouldn't have got far in his position if he was.
Incidentally, if you think the tartan bunnet's bad, you should check out the haircut and shades he had in the early 70's!

Seeing as he was born in 1939 he would have been a teenager in the early-mid 1950s - he had no racing pedigree then, he was concentrating on target shooting. He didn't start racing seriously until the 1960s.
Don't want to let facts get in the way of a good story though...
Then again, even if he was there and was a teenager, well you know what they can be like - now he'd be logging on to grown-up internet forums using 1337 speak. He had dyslexia so at least had an excuse for not being able to spell...
