T350C - Locked Out
Discussion
Hi,
Alarm not disengaging (therefore not able to open doors) - could be faulty fob, although I have tried new batteries to no avail.
Am awaiting for the spare to arrive, but in anticpation of worst case scenario, can anyone please mail me the secret entry procedure?
Not ruling out the known issue with water ingress into the alarm ECU.
Many thanks.

It could be interference - from a nearby mast or similar. Are you in the AA or similar? Get them to help.
My Chimaera played up once or twice - and embarrassed its new owner the day after he bought it from me by refusing to de-immobilise and causing a mega jam at heathrow. I found maybe 3 times in my ownership of it that it wouldn't work and I had to hold the remote right near the windscreen (receiver was where the glovebox would be on a normal car).
Also happened to my Audi A6 - I stopped refueling at the Shell Station by Coppid Beech Hotel in Bracknell - there is a mast nearby and my car always played up there.

I had EXCATLY the same problem 4 months ago. And this is what i found..........
I went onto pistonheads just like yourself and my fix for the prob was spot on, thanks to others helping me on my way via this forum.
In the passengers door well right where ya feet would be remove the false bulk head, just pulls out. In the far left hand corner of the footwell will be about 3 ecu,s and one will be ALARM ECU. I found the alrm ecu at the bottom of the bunch that are just velcroed to the bulk head and was sitting in water, a leak had accured. So i removed that ecu, just pull of bulk head and remove the wires. Pull the ecu apart, dead easy, and place in airing cupbaodr for a day to alow to dry out. Make sure there is no water in the plugs befreo refitting. Mop up any moisture found in the car. Now, refit the ecu BUT refit it OFF the floor area. Just get some superglue and restick the velco pads somewhere else but on the floor so it doesnt happen again.
When refitted wait 10 mins before touching anything!!!! Then push your keyfob and away you go. If this doesnt fix it ill be very surpirsed. Its a very common problem i heard but once you have done the mod of putting it somewhere but on the floor your done. I have not had a problem since.....
If you cant even get in the car, email me Extremekiter@aol.com and ill tell you how to get in the car if the doors dont work. Dead easy again.
Have fun

Thanks for the replies everyone.
Since I cannot even deactivate the alarm I'm suspecting both of my fobs are faulty. I will contact the Meta guys tomorrow about a replacement.
My fear is by entering the car I wouldn't be able to deactivate the alarm and upset all the neighbours!!. Would using the imobilser key also deactivate the alarm? Does anyone know?
