Photoshop/RAW conversion question
Discussion
Hi, I use PS CS 8 on my home PC, and use its RAW converter - when I can be bothered to use RAW!
I did a wedding last week as a favour and, because I had some time with it, used my work PC (about a year old) and it's inbuilt, cut-down version of PS and the RAW converter does an automatic exposure correction that suddenly makes RAW files make far more sense, especially when you've got loads to edit. It did a very good job of the correction and all the JPEGs originating from RAW (using a 20D) looked miles better than the native ones.
If my desktop version had this excellent feature I'd use RAW all the time. Is it only on more recent versions or is it a setting somewhere?
If not a setting, do any cheaply available - and easy to use - RAW converters do the same?
Thanks in advance!!!
