Hi All smile

Anyone else going to this ???

Not seen it mentioned here yet, unless I missed it ?

I need to practice some launches with my new Maxx race controller so the fact its only 1/8s is fine smile

Hoping to go as a spectator and use it as a soft intro (street leagal cars only) to drag racing for my 4.5 year old son, he's not too keen on loud noises. It's only an hour drive for me too so little one shouldn't get too bored on the way down either.

car ran 5.081 at the main event. It's fairly slow in the first half.Last 1/8 is as fast as a mid table pro stock car which is 2.598.I'll need to take a look at the track first before i quote figures.Usually can run 5.5 spinning the tyresbiggrin
Look forward to meeting you there Brett..

I met Andy at the Main Event (Sat) in the pits he was texting at the time, but I came across as a complete tongue tied pr~ck as I didn't know what to say at 20 feet... and kust said 'goodluck', but yes I stand back in awe at such folk. However, i did get to talk to another Drag Race hero on Saturday and hey wow, he remembered my name!

Hope to pluck up courage and intro myself properly next time... especially with little one around.

Hi smile

As Red says....dont be shy....most racers will chat for hours....as long as its the right time.....when I was a Top Fuel Crew chief...yes I have brushed off people if trying to get ready for a run...but always tried to find them later to explain and they usually understood....

Dont forget racers and others who put huge amounts of work into their cars are justifiably proud of the hard work they do...and will normally be extra friendly to anyone interested...

Nowdays I am ancient and just have fun with my little car...and usually have plenty of time to chat....so by all means come see me... smilesmileand bring the kids smile

This sounds like a great event, but its a bit far for me to go as i dont have a trailer (mine got writen off last year when a dum women tried to put her car on it from the side) and im in Essex. We go to a meet like this at North Weald air strip in Essex, but we run the full 1/4, its a great meet with lots of street legal cars and some race car. The next one is this weekend 10 June, Andy it would be great to see you at this if just to put in some show runs.

Hi All

Looking for a World Record.....for my Porsche 928 smile

Final preparations all finished this evening... for this >>>> http://www.streetnights.com/

Both 14 lb bottles put in the freezer for 20 mins then topped up from my big 82 lb bottle, then remounted with a total of 28 lbs Nitrous ready for tomorrow...

Twin connections fitted so both bottles can be heated and used as one...

Times to aim for.....

Fastest 928 in the world on the 1/8 mile is ...8.37 at 86.69 mph

Which I hope to better slightly....

Will look good in my signature , if I manage it .....

All the best Brett

yep, definitely a good intro to drag racing for my little one. When Andy Frost did his demo 1/8 mile burn out it really thrilled him. It was good to meet you Andy and thanks for your time talking to us.

Brett...

... where were you?

Note to Lee Childs: It's likely that we'd go again, thanks.

Only managed to get up there for a few hours in the morning (had to work in the afternoon - bad planning!). Really good I thought for a first attempt (BIG THANKS LEE!!) and hopefully there will be at least one more this year.

Anyway, a few photos, very hot rod biased I'm afraid!

Hi smile

Lol....when the car was parked there I think I was chatting to Andy as he had all the comfy chairs by his race trailer smile

We had a lot in common and knew a lot of the same people from the old days...maybe because we are both ancient smile (sorry Andy)

I had a really good day and would also like to thank Lee for the enormous amount of work he put in to make it all happen, everyone I spoke to hoped it would be the first of many....and I totally agree smile
