recycle bin in XP

Hi All.

Is there a recycle bin in winXP? I don't have a shortcut to one on my desktop and i can't find a recycle bin folder if i use the search faciclity. Does anyone know the path to find it?

in windows explorer is it not the next icon under network places in the lefthand folders list which you could drag to the desktop

i would not have thought it was that much of prob as you can right click and delete then use disk cleanup to empty the bin and clear other stuff out as well

thats my limit of knowledge

Have you tried right clicking the desktop and selecting properties? Then click on the Desktop tab and click on the Customize Desktop button. On the General tab click on the Restore Default button, then click OK.

It's possible to disable the recycle bin i.e. make files disappear when they're deleted instead of being moved to the bin, via the recycle bin properties. I don't think that makes any difference to whether you see the recycle bin on the desktop.

If you're looking for the recycle bin in the file system, the file name you're looking for would be RECYCLER (not "Recycle Bin&quotwink. You should find one of these on each drive that has (or has ever had) recycling enabled.
