I changed my password on my belkin wireless router about 1 month ago. Now I cannot remember it. I've tried all i know and its none of them. How can I gain access to my router again. I dont even mind if I have to reset it to the factory defaults as I have the settings I need written down. Just not the password.

On my Netgear there is a reset button underneath. Maybe something similar exists on your Belkin?

On my Belkin, it wasn't possible to access or change the configuration without the admin password, but it was possible to reset the whole thing back to factory defaults; this trashed the DSL settings and also reset the admin password back to the default.

Yeah, there's a recessed reset button that you push in with a pencil or paper clip. While the router is on and booted up, hold the button in for 5-10 seconds. All the lights will go off at some point and it'll go back to factory defaults.

Best way to see if it's worked is have your PC on and refresh the nextwork list after you reset. You will see belkin54g or similar with no encryption. That'll likely be your router. Connect to it and set it up again.

many thanks.

seems the reset button (with the use of a paper clip) has to held in for 10 seconds or so.

all done, and yes router go back to "out of the box" settings. but no problem there as I has all the settings and as you can see im back on line with a new router admin password.
