Due to weather, incident or both?

Couple of cars in front hadn't pitted and the race was cut short, we were good to go to the end. red flags are one of things that can mess with your planning frown

Things were a bit confusing as they counted back a lap with the red flag and all, so not too sure to be honest!

Peter Cook and Frank Pelle.

Is the driver who started the race in car 86 on the forum? If so, I'd like to thank him personally for trying twice to wipe out the photographers at the first corner, it was nice to have to shelter from all the c**p flying out of the tyre barrier after spending over 30 minutes standing in the pouring rain biggrin, also I'm sure the marshals appreciated having to rebuild the thing twice.... first time we can understand, it was very wet indeed, but to do it again a few laps later and have us all run for cover... nono

Well to be fair, by the time it was stopped, it was an absolute downpour with some hail mixed in....

Yet more disparaging remarks from 2priestsferrari, from the comfort of his lounge (or maybe the confines of his bed-sit - who knows?), whilst Aaron Lloyd, like me, dragged himself up from Essex for the day, despite the terible weather - thanks Aaron, your support is appreciated, as is all the others who regularly post here, and get themselves involved.

We all enjoy our Britcar outings, so, why oh why oh why, must some keyboard cowboys be intent on casting aspersions from afar. I've no interest in single seaters, and I have some pretty strong opinions on one of the embryonic race championships that I saw yesterday, but everything in motor sport is the result of people dedicating themselves, and their finances, wholeheartedly to their particular cause, and I would never, ever, for the sake of motorsport, call their motives, or their perceived failures, into question.

It's different in front of a lap top, though, isn't it.

Motorsport fans or nihilists?

Whatever, from hereon in, their words will be muzak to my rear.

Bizarre race yesterday, though, wasn't it? Good call to stop it, since there was some expensive machinery at risk in that biblical downpour. I'm just about to knuckle down to my full report.

With the hail coming down at the end, the right decision was made to end the race. Last year same thing with the weather and cars going off causing a lot of damage. We were not alone in Britcar to end a race early - at Silverstone the World Super Bike race #2 never happend and the super sport race was called to an end early after only 9 riders were still going round!

First round of the season at Silverstone we had a delayed start to allow the teams to go to a wet race set up i.e. tyres, suspension etc. In general the right calls have been made to help the competitors esp when none of us has an unlimted budget to fix the cars......

Well said, Steve. Constructive criticism is always helpful, but anonymous sneering at other peoples efforts is despicable

The Clerk had no option but to red flag the race as the track was almost blocked on the run down to Knickerbrook.
I thoroughly enjoyed the race even though the premature stoppage prevented us from going for our first Britcar win. Still, its better to come home with an intact car (or almost intact!) than a potentially wrecked one.
Britcar deserves some good weather as I am sure everyone is completely fed up getting soaked! I thought the last Oulton outing was one of a kind, history almost repeated itself yesterday!
Well done to everyone who was part of the meeting, the EERC people, the teams and not forgetting the poor marshalls who got completely drenched! Oh and Izzy for taking the odd snap and talking french!
Richard.

Roll on Spa rofl Having said last, it stayed dry when we went last year, so maybe we'll be lucky again!
