944 lux tyres

hi all i have just fit a set of tyres on the rear i put 225/60/15 on and have 215/60/15 on the front .will it run 225 on the front or are they to big

Not that I know a great deal about it, but having fitted new tyres recently it was commented that it's not advisable to put 225's on anything less than 7" wheels.

Handily the standard lux wheels are 7" wide

215/60/15 is the correct size, 225/60/15 will give a slightly larger rolling radius (not by much).

If it's an early 944 the speedo reads off a front wheel so it won't be affected, later models had a sensor on the gearbox (ie the rear wheels) so the speedo would read slightly pessimistic.

Personally I'd go for the correct size tyre every time.
