Hi Guys,

Bit of an odd question I suspect but was wondering if it was possible to download waypoints/maps for famous routes onto your TomTom unit? The reason I ask is that I am taking my car into Italy and France this summer and thought it would be cool to have things like the Mille Miglia or the Monaco GP route programmed in for my following pleasure. Has anyone done this?

Cheers,

Gylen

I did manually enter the Nurburgring as an intinerary file, but I don't know of any prepared files of race tracks. The Mille Miglia would be a good one for a long hot summer tour. PocketGPS has a POI file of racetrack sites in the U.K. but it doesn't work on my Navigator6.

This site Mille Miglia has all the route maps which you could enter on to your TomTom if you've got a spare couple of days!

How about using TYRE?
It supposed to let you plot waypoints using google Earth then import them to TomTom.

hmm, TYRE looks excellent - unfortunately, I'm on a mac and it seems to be PC only...It does seem like a good idea - I'm surprised that it's not been done yet! Perhaps it might be worth a Mod moving to P&P to see if there are more responses if they feel it might be of interest to more people?

Thanks,

Gylen
