New figures on underage drink-drivers
Discussion
Suggestion seems to be that the message has missed a whole generation.
Could it be, that with the proliferation of speed cameras,17-25 year-olds think that if they stick to the speed limit, the chances of being caught drink-driving nowadays are diminished ?
ie more cameras,less Trafpol ?

I agree, the young drivers think they get with everything.
Many I come across do not have a licence, no tax, insurance or MOT, when caught and questioned they admit everything, knowing that will get a £200 fine and a slap on the wrist, thats it.
I am very concerned that the numbers who do drink and drugs seem to be getting away with murder, literally!
When are our boys in blue going to start drug testing??
This is a far more widespread problem than the police will admit.
Maybe a random drug test is in order as well as an breathalyser.

A new game has started in my area among those that my daughter refers to as 'MoChavs' (kids in hoodies who ride twist 'n' go mopeds).
It's called the 'White Lightning Race'.
This involves the purchase by each competitor of a two-litre bottle of White Lightning 8% 'cider', which is then consumed by the competitor as rapidly as possible. When finished, the competitor then has to race around the perimeter road of a local estate for a given number of laps. The first one to return to the start is then presented with another bottle of White Lightning as a prize.
This is a fairly new craze and, luckily, no-one has yet been hurt. I have had a word with a couple of BiB mates but, at the time these events take place, they are all in town peeling idiots off of the pavements and each other.
Why do kids think that they can get away with drink driving? Because they can and they do...
