right i have changed the hydrolics but still that loud tapping sound is there.
desperate to find someone close to aldershot hampshire to take a look and tell me what the problem is.
please please please is there anyone outthere who knows about these cars.

Are you sure its still the lifters making the noise? If so check your oil level and also what grade of oil you are using.

done all that mate.
some garage who never works on these cars thought it might be an exhaust valve.
i did see a very small part of the tensioner broke off but the chain was still fine and under tention.
i am also trying to buy a work manual for it

That could be the problem, the chain could be catching on every oscelation. Does the knocking noise become more rapid when you rev the engine?

It could be plenty of other things too, get it over to someone who knows about these pronto!

i taps more on low revs then goes away when you excelerate more.
oil is getting through but i think ill check that tentioner.
do you know where i can get a manual to work from

Yeah check the tensioner and also make sure it isnt your chain that has developed some slack because they can start banging about when they have aged.

Try the phirm in farnham. Top team and well recomended amongst the Rado people.
