Bulkhead Steering Bushing - Rover SD1 Column

I have a 1986 280i Federal Spec with the Rover SD1 Steering Column (adjustable up & down) and I need to replace the bulkhead bushing. Does any one know if the SLFL3/4 bearing featured on on the Wedge Pages will fit this column. As the column in the photos looks as if it is from the TR7. thanks

Well yes... and no

My car has the SD1 column and when the plastic bush wore (and it wasn't worn very much but by hell did the wheel move around) I decided to try that mod.
The only trouble was that the SD1 column has a 14mm diameter which is not a preferred size of bore for the bearing manufacturers.
I had to resort to buying a 17mm bore bearing and turning up a bush on the lathe to suit.
The improvement was well worth the minor hassle.

So yes it can be done but not with the TR7-sized bearing.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try and find a 14mm bore flange bearing. If not I'll go oversize and fit a collar. cheers.
