It has always struck me as supremely ironic that the Gatsometer ('Gatso') which we have all come to know and love was invented by a Dutch *rally driver* - Maurits Gatsonides - for an entirely different purpose.

He used it to measure his cornering speed in order to improve his driving - i.e. his ultimate aim was to GO FASTER!!

It is simply misuse of technology, and unfortunately the trend is spreading rapidly.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Some prat thought it would make money.

Sadly the prat was right - it make loadsamoneey!

But technology - with unscrupulous governments - used as weapon to limit freedoms und impose control.

Next thing - the tag will become "obedience necklace" like the one in episode of Star Trek. It even had Mr Spock in agony rolleyes

The story I read on this when the cameras first came out was that Mr Gatsonides actually invented the camera after his wife was killed by a speeding driver and that he had used the technology behind rally timing instrumentation in it.
