As per thread title. Looked like those beloved peeps from the 'safety partnership' or whatever they call it.

I was doing 55-60 on the slip road joining from the M20 roundabout (running horse??) and i happened to see them i my rear view mirror just before i booted it.

This is their site

http://www.kmscp.org/

I wrote an email to them after I used google to find the site. Unfortunately, at that time the web location still had the old site which was many months out of date.

Old site http://www.kentandmedwaysafetycameras.org.uk/

Now this is just a holding page, they could have at least setup a re direction.

Oh the reason for the name change was so that they could put their names on pens

Do you get a free pen with every NIP then? I wonder how much money has been wasted, sorry invested, in that rebranding?

Tell me about it. rolleyes

They recently came to my workplace to lecture about speeding and dished out information packs containing...

... a pen, notepad, tax disk holder, key fob, and two separate information sheets all emblazened with "SPEED KILLS" rolleyes

:Grandad Mode on:

Speed does kill ! (used in the wrong place at the wrong time)

Mind you, so does driving under the influence (drink/drugs), driving while tired, driving with screaming kids in the back, under age driving - the list goes on & on.

So why ALWAYS FcensoredING bang on about speed ! Why not just make it "BAD DRIVING KILLS" & Target all aspects of it ?

:Grandad mode off:

Sorry - whinge over ! wink

I've only spotted the van once recently - mind you, I've been driving down Bluebell Hill on a regular basis for the last 2 years & only spotted the van last week. frown

The van is down there on a regular basis. Sometimes sits at the top of the hill as well on the bridge. Also regularly seen opposite Asda's catching cars coming over the flyover. The barstward sits in the lay-by picking them off, Knowing full well that 40mph is a stupid speed for that road.

By the way this is my first post so hello to all in the Medway area. Give me a wave if you see me. Red Pre-Lit Westfield with black cycle wings. Soon to be seen in the Sittingbourne area if my Mortgage finally gets sorted out.smile

Welcome aboard matey. I'm a relative newcomer myself here but have become rather, er, addicted to the forum in a short space of time paperbag

They recently snapped me at the top of the hill where you describe. That really hacked me off as I was doing around 50mph which IMO is a bl00dy sensible speed for that stretch, nay it's positively geriatric! And to top it off I was only in the missus' rover 200 mad

Cheers mate.

There also used to be a scamera van parked up around the Strand area in Gillingham every couple of weeks. I complained to the scamera people how this idiot parked in a dangerous area and i saw 3 accidents nearly happen due to his postioning.

Haven't seen him since. scratchchin

Thing is i still take my eye's off the road at this area to check my speed and that was well over a year ago.

He used to park at the bottom of a hill. At the top of the hill are two left hand turns with one of them blind, a blind corner and a pedestrian crossing. At times i wanted to get out and give him a right ear bashing on his dangerous positioning.

I think i just lost my cool with this idiot when i looked down at my speed, because of him , only to look up and see the car in front braking heavily because a car had pulled out of a near blind corner and stalling.

When i drove past him i gave him my full appreciation of his positioning, then later wrote an email to the powers that be. Needless to say i didn't hold back on the wording.

No doubt if that idiot reads this then he'll go back there just for the hell of it.

Found out an interesting piece of info the other day for anyone who uses the Hale Street bypass.

If you're heading towards Paddock Wood and have joined the bypass from where it starts at the end of Seven Mile Lane look out for a car parked on your left in the entrance to the quarry. It's an unmarked spotter car.
