Discussion
Who knows anything about cool boxes? I have seen this and want to know if anyone has experience of them?

Costco have the smaller "Marine" version which they sell for around £35 and this works pretty well. They also have the big "MaxCool" which I think is the same one as the ebay link. I can't remember exactly how much but it's not as much as the ebay one - if I were to hazard a guess I'd say about £70.
The MaxCool is supposed to be fab, the big one is huge though so you'll need to think about how you are transporting it. Assuming you've got space, take it packed with frozen bottles of water, cartons of juice etc. then ram it full of beer and lay a couple of bags of ice over the top.
Obviously the less you open it the better it will perform - so take all your beer in one go!

I bought the smallest one from America. Ended up costing around 20 quid. They are bloody fantastic but I wouldn't buy one over here just because they cost so damn much.
I went to Costco and got the Maxcold 70 which has wheels and an extendable handle for £29.99 + VAT. Seemed like a good price to me.
They did have the huge ones that are in the ebay link but it would never have fitted in my car

Are the ones which cool via ciggie lighter any good.

We've got one of the similar ones from CostCo, that was £30-odd a couple of years ago.
They work well, have a drain plug to get rid of excess water, there is also a plastic tub that fits inside that you can keep food in out of the ice mixture in the bottom.
They claim a 5-day ice life, but I think that's if you never open the lid.
The box is massive, taking up the whole rear seat of most cars.

The majority of these only cool to 20-22 degrees below ambient temperature. OK for the UK perhaps but (fingers crossed!) no good for LM. In Cost co and here in Go Outdoors

I've got a Waeco Combicool 3 way fridge, it runs on gas (& 240v & 12v), cools to 30 degrees below ambient temperature and is fab.
It's a struggle to stop it freezing beer in our dining room running on leccy!

Just make sure you have plenty of ice.
