Hi guys just new to the forum and thought I would inform fellow users of a very poor car for sale on here! I wasted alot of time and money on a rubbish car and an idiot, if you look around page 5 there is a black e36 m3 cab for sale £9995 with 38k on the clock, after various phone calls and assurance from the owner that the car was mint and there was no negoiation in price as the condition of the car was outstanding and to be fair the pictures to confirm this. I booked the flight from edinburgh to surrey, with the bankers draft for 10k as requested, I hoped to spend an hour looking over the car etc then be on my way back up the road with a big grin on my face.....However I got picked up in the car and to be fair the interior was mint and reflected the miles, outside was at least 100k plus with the condition of it. Here is the list of faults with the car.
Cracked rear quater moulding, Bauld rear tyre, needing rear discs, 2 rather bad scrappes on either side of the front bumper, cracked fog lights, covered in stone chips on the front bumper, badly scrapped splitter, bonnet was the same in regards to marks, scratches and laquer coming off. Looked like both wings have been repaired and the windscreen wash cracked.
To sum up I was a little p***ed off by the condition of the car, the owners reply what do you expect for a 10k car and offered 500 off the price. I did not take the car hence this post, the cherry on the cake was when he would not take me back to the airport and it cost me another £30 to get there. My message to the owner is simply change the advert of your car and dont mislead buyers, and if im ever down that way I will be sure to stop by.....

Regards
Steven

hence why I never travel more than a 100 miles to view a car... too much effort dealing with people that see a "small scratch" when looking at a 2ft gouge half way through the metal...

That is bad luck.

Welcome to PH though wavey

I too have learnt that lesson (although only traveled 30 miles), so to make sure it doesnt happen again, I will request a detailed collection of photos from the vendor. If he doesnt provide, I dont go to see the car.

Unlucky, squire.

You should have taken the test drive to the airport and just gotten out, though.

Cheers guys for all the comments, not found another one yet, seen a nice blue one in the trader but the chap wants 14k drove nice and the sequential box was a nice touch. Not sure if its still the thought of trip costing me over 300 notes and had nothing to show for it.. ps if anyone is interested in it have done the hpi check on it, another wasted 37 notes. Going out to get wasted on sat to drown my sorrows.

This doesn't appear to be about value for money.

This thread is about people being deceitful in their adverts thus wasting other peoples time and money. If the advert had any problems listed the seller will have to deal with less people walking away and buyers won't being making wasted trips, everyones a winner!
