Had one for a month.

I have just noticed that it makes a "twittering" noise when cold. Like high pitched birdsong. Sounds like the fanbelt. Is it something to worry about or do "they all do that, sir"

No, they do not all do that Sir!!
Sounds like you have a dry bearing on the aux drive belt, tensioner or idler pulley.
You may be able to reach it with some WD40, but it will only be a temporary fix as the only real answer is to change the offending item!

Cheers

Thanks, I will book it in with a dealer. The car is only a month old (07) so no problems from a warranty point of view.

To be clear, it is not serious (I only noticed because I dropped the window). When the cabin is closed, you can't hear it. It goes away after about five miles.

Funny enough the Jag XKR's also did this. Need the belts sorted, not a big deal.
