Motorists who pick up 12 points on their licences can have the pain of their driving bans softened thanks to a Norwich-based insurance company.

But the boss of Keepumoving - a new business that deals solely in loss-of-licence insurance cover - insists his service does not reward bad or dangerous driving.

Monthly premiums start at £3.99, but a motorist with a more expensive platinum policy would get a payout of £1,000 a month for up to a year if he lost his licence.

However, a Keepumoving policy will only pay out if the points have been issued in multiples of three or fewer.

Well there's obviously an emerging market for this business. Very very good luck to them. There's plenty of other people pimping money off the back of the Great Speeding Swindle, and these guys are actually benefitting the motorist so I'm happy for them to feed from the same trough.

Thinking more on this, is there a way this speeding ticket craze could become any more discredited? I don't think so!

Dodgyscopes, random speeding tickets peppered around drivers now being ignored by insurance companies since they don't effect one's likelihood of making a claim, insurance against losing your licence from then, constant desperately sensible press releases from P Smith, previously chronic road safety improvements abruptly halted, the list goes on.

How long can these imbciles continue to stand behind thier ridiculous speed ticket businesses with their pathetic chests puffed out crowing "speed kills" and citing their comedy crash statistics. They're a laughing stock!

Man, when this lot comes crashing down there's going to be some red faces and I for one will be laughing hysterically as it happens...

I thought this had been tried before but it was discovered that you can't insure yourself against breaking the law?

You're not. You're insuring against being wrongly charged by evidence gathered unsafely. Or maybe you are. Whatever. smile

There are quite a few insurance companies getting involved in this. Evo are running a story at the moment on it.

The policy they talk about is offered by

I would seriously consider it.

Sadly, I wouldn't hold my breath for that moment of satisfaction. Seems to be a long way off still. By then the greenies will probably have won and anyone owning or enjoying a car will be getting burnt at the stake (in a non-polluting fashion).
