Took my T350 to David Hendry's Tuesday AM for a 12k service, MOT and warranty renewal (inspection etc.). Not much to report to be fixed - needed a slight tune (throttle pots maybe) and the reverse light wasn't working (again).

Collected it this morning. No other faults found, passed MOT/inspection and all tuned up. Car is now running great. Almost feels like they've shortened the throttle cable gearing it goes so well now.

Cost £2118.05. Including £1347 for the warranty (wear and tear).

I've had good service from them. Unfortunately Andrew Hendry was'nt to keen on engine upgrades, so I went to Dulfords.
Don't know if I'll go back because Dulfords is good aswell.

Trefor, glad to hear no major problems at all. I presume that price is without a valve clearance check?

Yes, they didn't need doing. Engine is quiet as a baby (i.e. it screams sometimes).

Why did they need to do an inspection if its a renewal? Did they charge you?

I take it the new warrantee will take affect the day the old one runs out so all work picked up by any inspection would be covered by the existing warrantee. confused

Bizarre though it may sound, Autoprotect want a full report, including valve clearance check before a warranty is taken out. Now as it happens I have a warranty so in theory anything they may have found should have been fixable under the current warranty smile (which expires on June 11th). Of course if I didn't have a warranty it would cost.

This is why I made sure I got the renewal done in good time - so I was well covered smile

Edited to say: I got charged 7 hours labour in total, I think it was one extra hour for the warranty check - normally two without service

Doesn't really sound bizarre at all, when you hear what some folks are claiming off the warranty. Have heard a rumour from a dealer that AutoProtect were considering adding checking of the finger followers to the inspection process, but so far this doesn't appear to have happened.

so are you saying they checked them? But then they did not need adjusted? Or just had a listen and said "Shazam!, they sound fine!"

Nothing personal, just a bug bear of mine when it comes to tappet adjustment. From my experience!

They had the cam cover off and had a quick check. Note that my engine was rebuilt last year and the tappets were actually adjusted at the 1k service around October. So the engine has only done around 2k on these 'settings'. It was due a full 12k service in time/intervals though and I wanted all my fluids doing.
