Yes, I realize this isn't the Jag forum, but it is more or less the supercar one!

So I figured I would ask you all about this car. Is it any good to drive? What prices are they currently going for? Any niggles and faults to be aware of when looking for one? Who are the best people to talk to about this car? What does it compare to in the modern day? Can it keep up with the likes of the Carrera GT or Zonda?

Octane magazine did a fantastic write up on these cars a few months back, email them to ask about a back issue.

In answer to your Q's:
Very large car with almost no visibility. Hard to get in and out, cramped cockpit, sounds like a sack of spanners thrown into a cement mixer.
Good to drive (for such a large car) but brakes are awful, and of course poor visibility
Look to spend £100-130k for a nice RHD car (only 67 RHD so quite rare)
Faults - check bag tanks have been done. Service is about £5k ususally.
Talk to Don Law, they look after pretty much all the UK based cars
Still 0-60 3.8 and 217mph so enough to keep up with the modern stuff - just don't forget they're 15 years old!
Any other Qs feel free to PM me.

When Jezza drove one the stereo flew out of the fascia when he nailed the throttle hehe Unfortunatley it isn't a Ferrari or a Lambo and therefore needs a stereo!

I couldnt believe how cramped it was inside when I drove one (many years back) considering how f**king massive the car is....found the door card with dials quite intrusive as well.

the drop down headlights are the coolest thing on the car and I broke them which I was rather proud of!

I think TCF just about covered it all. Mr B owned the ex TWR lightweight in yellow a few years back. The one that set the record around Millbrook I think with Tiff driving until it was surpassed by the Macca F1.

How would you guys say the Jag compares to the Ferrari F50? In a completely different league, or no? How much would a LHD F50 go for?

I'd love a XJ220 in my Virtual garage alongside a F40 just to reminisce of my old Jaguar Challenge Scalectrix

No RHD I believe, I think some F50's sit at just below 300k... If you like 15,000 miles on the clock...

1 RHD car - sold not that long ago for £330k

Standard cars can be bought for circa £275k.

And that particular car (yellow TWR S version) is still the fastest car I have ever been in (as a passenger only, sadly). Mental.

Would any of you imagine the price for either car to be less in the US? I understand that cars are typically more expensive in the UK than most places, but since these are rare, do they follow a more global valuation pattern?
