Hi all

Has anyone out there had a new BAS hood fitted with the heated, glass rear screen in? I've got an older Boxster (1999), the rear screen has finally given into the 'cold crack' situation resulting in a 4 inch split! oops. although the option is there to have a new screen put in, i'm tempted to have a proper job done and go with a new hood with the glass screen, I know it's a lot more dosh but feel it's probably worth it!

I live in Harrogate North Yorkshire, if anyones had this done up my part of the UK let me know your thoughts!

Jez, have a look in my profile. I got the BAS roof fitted earlier this year. It really is a no brainer. Drop me a PM if you want further pics/info.

Cheers,

Steve

I did consider the BAS hood with glass window, but having seen pics of it I decided against it (the window is very small indeed and with the changes to the shape of the hood frame it looks really odd . . IMHO)
No changes to hood frame. Window is smaller than the plastic window but you actually see the same amount looking through your RVM. And it's a perfectly clear view smile

I am thinking of going for the glass screen hood. Is BAS the manufacturer supplier ? and where are they? Thanks

They certainly are. They're based just outside of Newport, Wales but if that's not convienient, there are other fitters throughout the country who'll supply and fit the same roof.

link to BAS site

or there's:

kbaggstrimming in Poole

amongst others smile

hi hammerhead

Looking at that pic I think it looks a pretty good option to me! Being able to actually see out the rear screen would be a start, that coupled with not having to do the 'boxster chop' everytime i put the roof down and having heating elements has sold it to me

I'll get it booked in when I get back from Le Mans!

cheers
