Headlamp Advice

Bought a pair of headlamp reflectors off clevor trevor who also supplied me a couple of BOTTOM fixing bolts as these sheared trying to get them off.
Tried to fit them tonight after waiting 24 hours for the silicone to cure around the bowl and i can't get the bottom bolts to locate there about 30mm too short.
I measured the bolts that snapped and there the same size as the sides.
The only thing that keeps the bottom of the light from moving is the surround and that can't be right.
The 2 bolts that broke could'nt have been connected.
Can anyone confirm this?
Also bought a set of xenon bulbs of ebay and there watted as 60/55w the handbook says 55/65w but the ones i took out are 80/100w
Confused or what!
Are xenon bulbs brighter so less wattage needed or are these wrong alltogether.
As always thanks for any advice.

I changed my reflectors a while ago,I had to drill out the old bolts because they had fibreglass resin in the crosshead and the screwdriver wouldn't grip.I bought some new bolts and wing nuts from B and Q i think it was. They were a bit shorter than the originals and with the spring pressure a bit fiddly to fit...They kept fireing the wing nuts all around the inside of the wings.I do remember screwing the bolts as far in as i could then adjusting them outwards afterwards. My original bolts were at 3,6 and 9 o clock. So i don't think them being a bit shorter should stop it going back,it just means the bold head is set further in,i.e more recessed from the front than they were origialy. If that makes sense??

The 3 screws have lugs on that connect at 3,6,9 o'clock to the bowl and with the shape of the wing and pressing the lamp into the recess the bottom is not longer enough.Graham
Yup i know what you mean,I did have trouble with one reflector, and I found the new refletor was catching the top of the hole.So when the top of the reflector was pushed into the hole it would not swivel downwards enough for the bolt to go through the hole at the back...it took me a while to work that out lol.it sounds like it will be easier for you to get a longer bolt.sorry if i've not been much help.

Those lenses have to be bonded to the shell even with the gaskets otherwise they will leak like a sive and move around,i done this 1st then when curesd fitted the outer surrounds much trial and error to get the fit right,i have just done all this about 4 weeks ago,i bonded new stainless bolts to the lamp surround with fibre glass bridge a gap(bolts are well firm)i also used 3 blobs of silkaflex then left the masking tape to locate the outer trim overnight(thats the tricky bit)take your time to get nice gaps all the way round it pays off when you peel of the masking tape and view your patients
