Just having my wifes Boxster MOT tested when revving it for emission control it dumped most of its coolant out of the pressure release device situated in the boot.No increase in temperature.

Filled it back up with water and have driven it a few miles it has had a constant normal temperature and no coolant loss.

Any ideas.

I think (hope!)tester has turned release cap and not tigthened it back properly. If so is there a complex method of re filling or can I just add a bit of water and anti-freeze.

You need to rev the engine to 4k rpm whilst refilling the coolant tank AND closing the cap before the revs drop. 2 person job.

This will pressurise the system correctly.
