Hello all,
I'm re-building a 94 chimp and changing a few things on the way.One of them is solid rear discs to vented and wanted to know if i can do away with the regulator that is mounted above the diff? I beleive that TVR did away with these on later cars, but i wanted to double check
Cheers

they didn't do away with it .. it's just much smaller and attached to the front part of the T splitter at the rear pipe split. don't go large discs rear without going big discs front also .. in fact keeping the std rear discs and going bigger front discs will restore the balance somewhere near where it should be .. at the mo you'll have a big rear bias .. not nice

You may also need to change the rear upright to take the bigger disc. Makes it rather an expensive operation.

still not a problem though .. get down to the local TVR breakers (OK mail order!) and get the complete caliper and bearing/mounting flange assembly, the uprights are the same .. the caliper is wider for the vented disc and the extra diameter is accomodated in the longer mounting flange which is integral with the bearing carrier anyway. simple conversion.

Thanks to JOOSPEED and SHPUB for the top advice.Well appreciated Managed to get hold of all the parts that are needed, so i'll be putting them together this weekend. Just one last question, are there any advantages on fitting a manual brake bias valve or will the orginal regulator do the job?
Cheers
