From X50 to X50 plus RUF
Discussion
After an e-mail from Adam I started thinking. I have had the Porsche for around 20 months and have been thinking of changing it some to something newer but the problem is that I can't find anything that does all the things the Porsche does.
I use the car daily to commute and almost weekly it stays at Heathrow short stay so don't want anything like a lambo.
Adam suggested a Ruf upgrade. Question is what type of upgrades can you get, which are the best mix of cost to bhp and how much?
Thanks

From memory there are two options for an X50. Which both come with a two year engine warranty.
550 - (nearer 560bhp) Remap and exhaust etc, about £15k
590 "Nardo" - (nearer 630 bhp) Engine rebuild with stronger bits, remap, exaust etc about £42k
May also be worth adding on the cost of uprated alcons on the front axle.

The 996TT is a very hard car to replace, I had mine for nearly 4 years.
The problem with a power increase is you will get used to it very quickly & it just becomes more of the same IMO, whilst also burning money, as you won't get it back come re-sale!
Best enjoy the car until you are bored & then go for a refreshing change............
997GT3, same performance, similar ride quality & daily usability but with a screaming high revving flat six & more involving handling!
R8- Looking good from the current tests.
AMV8 - hasn't got the grunt, but is a total change & a fabulous ownership experience & used high spec cars now below £70k at main dealers with full warranty etc.

With the Ultima for max thrust fun, all the more reason not to trick the Turbo, I still say go for a change instead, although I appreciate the TT is one hell of a car.
Don't write off the Aston, the latest models are very good, better than Masers on the reliability front, I had an AMV8 for a year without one problem, lovely car, safe to park up as absolutely everyone loved it, unlike Pork & a great drivers car. Although not in the TT's performance envelope I know of three other Turbo drivers (plus myself) that made the move to the Aston & the others still have theirs!
What do you think to the R8 & 997GT3?

Guy,
I was checking the prices for flights to munich, and easyjet are currently doing a sale, and its seriously good value, and a very easy trip.
I would thoroughly recommend giving the ruf guys a call, and heading over for a weekend....

best,
adam

Most probably going to Munich in the next month for work so may have to make a visit.
Er you have no choice then. You simply have to make a visit to the factory. Be careful if they take you out in one of the development cars. If you have the cash in the "car fund" you will buy one.
The marketing guy to speak to is Marc Bongers, alternatively I'm sure Adam can sort it out and be at your side pushing you in the right direction.
