Noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

In an abnormal moment of logical clarity it occurred to me today that as my job keeps me away from home so much and I hardly get to drive her the Chim will have to go. What am I going to do?

I tried thinking of a 'practical' car that will give as much fun but there just isn't one. The Chim is fine, always starts when I want her to but the thought of her just sitting on the drive 99.99% of the time seems..............odd. It's a car meant to be driven, not left standing or being polished. 1500 miles or so in six months is just not natural.

God that depresses me. I'm off to the pub frowndrink

But Paul, if you sell your 400 you will have to buy a 500. It's all there in print so you can't go back on it, read your car review if you can't remember saying it. wink

You see I have thought about this. I haven't driven my 1040 mini for 5 years, only get to drive the TVR possibly once a week, and have a perfectly good Astra Estate for hacing around in. Plus I have a 71 Cooper S. So I figured I really should sell the 1040 and the TVR as I never get a chance to use either. But I drove the Griff to fix the 1040, then drove the 1040 and then the Griff. Big Grins. Can't do it. Once a week, once a month, once a year. That's all you need. Once is always better than never.

I've only done about 5000 miles in 5 years in my Landrover, but I've had her about 12years now and I'd sell everything else I own before I sold her - including the Griffith

hi all.i havnt done 1500 miles in 4 years of having my chim but i wouldnt sell.the car stands me in so much money that i would never recover and if i did sell it what can you buy for that sort of money.when you do use your tvr it allways puts a smile on your face, what other car does that.so mine will stay in my garage and i will try and use it more if not then my son can have it in 10 years time when he will be 17.cheers ,jay.

My current car IS a 500!

Bugger, bugger, bugger. It's not a monetary thing and it's not that the car is unreliable through lack of use, far from it. It's more that I can't stand the idea of it sitting idle.

Then again I've a few little jobs to do on her so maybe I'll feel better if I do them. Working on the car always makes it feel more........mine.

Damm, thought I had an open shut case there. I understand the dilema, had similar thoughts to you last summer. In the end I decided I just couldn't bear to watch someone else drive off in MY car and so kept it. Good luck with the decision though.
