Right most of you will probably know that my 1996 Griffith 500 car is being repaired at The TVRBodyshop in Nailsea,Bristol.
I have been promised it willbe finished by the end of May.
Since they have had it January i have formed varied opinions of them postives and negatives.

What i am after is some off your expierences of them to see if they are similiar to mine.

OF course there are posting rules so please only give Positives on this thread PLZ

And if there are any negatives i would also be interested to know so u can mail me here sipow@ukonline.co.uk

TIA

And have a good weekend

I haven't got any experience of them but I'm glad that at last you're just a couple of weeks from getting it back. Bet the impending reacquaintance has the adrenaline starting to squirt around already!

Alright BB.

I'm in same boat as you. My car is still not finished...it went for repair at Blackpool on 8th January!!

Still, I speak to the guys at the factory and they all seem like good people, one of them gave me his mobile number so I could get updates whenever I wanted. I guess it just takes a bloody long time!

They seem fairly confident for a finish in the next week and a half. Fingers crossed hey! Can't wait to get back in the old Cerbera, i'll have been without it for 6 months by the time I get it back!

Good luck

BB, when mine had it's fox damage repair last year it took 3 months! As that was just a bashed nose & yours was far worse I'd guess on double the time.
Hope you get it back soon. I'm still waiting on the insurance companies with mine

BB, when you get your Banana back I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts on TVR Bodyshop - we were thinking of getting the light conversion done on the Cerb and this is one of the possible venues.

Great to hear the Banana is on the mend at last!

BB i would wait, before making judgements, until you get the car back.It could be a superb job, after all its better to have a good job done than have it rushed and get a cr@p job done. All IMHO

The TVR Bodyshop did the light conversion on my Chim. A great job and within the time they said. The car was Rosso Pearl which is a difficult colour to match, so I'm told. It was impossible to tell where they had completed the new paint work and no they didn't respray the whole car! So my vote is a big plus for them.

TVRbodyshop also did the headlight conversion on my old chim. They did a good job and the respray, apart from being spankingly shiny and new, was indistinguishable from the rest of the car.

A potential problem did nearly arose involing sourcing a part from TVR, but they sorted this out allowing me to pick the car up as planned.

If your concern is about the timescale, could this be due in part to the requirement to source items from TVR, as speedy gonzales they are not?

Not sure what everyone else feels, but when I hear stories of cars taken 3 and 6 months to be repaired I am quite shocked.

Regardless of the damage I would say that 6months for any level of damage is unacceptable regardless of parts availability. And 3 months just for some relatively minor nose damage is crazy. Do they just assume that everyone has a second car?!?

If you need new body panels/front end/back end it seems to take ages for body shops to get the GRP sections from the factory. Took me 5 months (5 years ago) but I don't think its got any better.

If the section is in stock at the factory you should get a delivery within a week. If they need to make it can take up to six weeks for a delivery. Once the section has been deviered let say for a front or rear section it shouldn't take much longer than four weeks to fit and paint.
