defender 07 chip
Discussion
does anyone know if there's a chip and a speed de limiter out yet for the new defender, have just changed from a td5 defender with a van aken smart box and am a bit down on power and speed. That said the new engine is way better for torque and towing but 85mph v-max is begining to get on my nerves.Really gets me when transit vans breeze past me on the m-way.
apart from the speed and power issue prity impresed with it so far wouldent say its way diferent from my last one, dash is diferent but i did like the last one, must have done to do 105000 miles in less than 4 yrs (i must be mad).

Do you really want to go faster than 85??The steering can be a little vague at times so I dont think Id want to go faster than the limited speed.
I get what your saying but as it is the limiter seems to cut in gently from about 80 so if you are trying to overtake it can be a litle anoying. I dont find the stearing vauge, may be that i have just got used to how they handle (25k miles per year). My last one would cruise nicely at 90 and top out at 100 (on a track of course). Also with the power been so low down it seems to run out of steam at the top end of the rev range, have found there is no advantage reving it past 3500 revs.Like i said its way better for towing and off road but is just a bit lacking at top end compared to a chipped td5.Nick.
