Drive it!!!! I recently sold my Chimaera 450 and really regret not having one last long trip.
The 1200 additional miles will make ZERO difference to your selling price.
I purposely kept the mileage low on the Chim - sold it with 8k on the clock (had it from new) because I was thinking about residual value. If I had sold it with 12k on the clock I would have got the same money I rekon.

I drove down to Poitiers (sp?) last month, but couldn't take Giff (not enough seats!)
Every inch of the way my wife & I were wishing we had the TVR. We took the fast route, motorway all the way. From the tunnel a journey of 500 miles in 6 hours.(including stops)
We plan to go back soon in the Tiv, but will go on the B roads & stop over near Le Mans overnight.
The roads are great, even Paris wasn't too bad but that was luck rather than good judgement, I would avoid it in the Griffith.
The other good thing is even the tiniest of petrol stations have 98 octane petrol, nothing to worry about on that front.
Take the TVR, you will feel like the king of the world. The roads are fantastic & the French will make you & your car feel very special...so much so you will probably decide not to sell it!

I couldn't agree more. We've travelled France many times in the Chim and have just come back from a break in the Tuscan. Stay off the autoroutes (boring but good if you need to travel distance quickly), take the route nationals and smaller "D" roads. The roads are mostly v. good and away from major towns v. quiet. The French people do seem to like the TVRs to the point that the car can draw a small crowd when you stop for petrol! Good idea to have AA 5* or something similar, not that I've ever had any problem with either car.
You'll have a great time and want to do it again!

Take the TVR. If you don't I will...
Actually, er... me Julie and I are off to the Vendee in a couple of weeks (probably pass you on the way back!) but as we are off to a wedding on the Isle of Wight first and are giving lifts, we have to take Julie's Punto... much as I'd planned to take the 390.
Maybe next year...
From La Rochelle, it's not that far to Cognac... :hinthint:
