First timers to leman and probably should have asked this before we bought the tickets.

4 of us have general admission tickets but bought 2 grandstand tickets to share throughout the race so we all get the benefit without the expense. Is there anything to stop us doing this as its only just crossed our minds.

cheers

There is no problem is sharing grandstand tickets between different people at different times.

Take some time in your seats in the early hours of Sunday morning, watching from the grandstands at night is amazing, and you get a great view of the pit work at night.

You will find the whole experience amazing, you'll get tired - but stick with it! wobble

cobylu, access to the grandstands is comprehensively marshalled and you'll have no probs swopping tickets etc as you intend. However, in the early hours of Sunday the marshalls tend to disappear and the grandstands are pretty empty for a few hours, therefore generally accessible without the grandstand ticket. This means all of you could spend a few hours together in several grandstand. I can recommend trying to get into Maison Blanche grandstand and also somewhere opposite the pits: take binoculars for close ups of pit action. Don't bother with the pits grandstands themselves: there's little to see in reality. In due course as the marshalls reappear you'll be turfed out of course. R.

Although I've never tried it, I understand that either 2 or 3 hours after the start of the race, your grandstand ticket will admit you into any of the tribunes.
People with a tribune ticket, seem to watch the start, a little at night and then the finish. The seat is empty for the majority of the race in most cases.

I'm going to test this out this year.

Hi, I'm in the same situation (6 grand stand tickets and 19 people).

Does anyone know what happens if a ticket is already checked in to a seat and someone else try to check in again with the same ticket?

Will the second person simply be turned away...or am I going to be prosecuted as it says on the Ts & Cs of the ticket?

If it's the same as previous years the grandstand tickets are only visually inspected, not scanned.

No one checks you in as such , the ticket can be used to go in and out of the stand as often as you like and it doesn't matter who is holding it
They do know if its "in" or "out" of the stand area through the bar code , so you couldn't go in then hand your ticket to a mate on the other side of the fence who then uses it to get in with you.

The seats are only all being used at the start and finish, all other times there are plenty of empty seats

After you've entered for the first time, they also give you an 'exit' piece of paper which you have to hand back when you go back into your seat, precisely to avoid the situation where someone passes the same ticket over the wall to their mate who tries to get in.

But as said, late at night it's likely to be less of an issue

As per what LEAPER has stated, through the night the grandstand marshals tend to fade away, remember many years ago had my son on my shoulders watching the race, marshal tapped me on the shoulder offering me a place in the Dunlop Chicane grandstand, great views and a really good place to watch from, but that said there are loads of great places to watch throughout the night, it is a great spectacle, enjoy!!!

As many tickets are e-tickets this year there presumably is not a tear off piece to stop the trick pf passing the ticket to a mate once inside. I wonder therefore if they will be scanning them?

GE tickets have been scanned on entry and exit for a few years now.

Don't forget all the tribunes are open to all during practice and quali - I always visit the pit tribune on Thursday night to get pics of cars from above.
