Bits falling off

Had a run out last night over the Snake Pass (Not bad food @ the Snake Inn) and noticed the following bits in the footwell when I parked the car up. I am guessing theyre off the brake light switch, Yes I know I should have checked the brake light was working, however being thick I didn't and as the car is garaged a fair distance away Im just wondering if anyone can confirm what they are and where if neccesary (hard to spell that!) I can get a new one if needs be.

That is the handbrake switch. Having messed around with mine the other week when I replaced the carpet I would say that you're better off with a proper microswitch. One with a roller in the actuator would be ideal and is what I've used on previous cars. It's easier to then adjust so that the handbrake lever reliably makes contact with it.

Maplin part number GW73Q is the style. Does mean new mounting holes though.
