i know they will 'only' cost me £15 to replace, but why would anyone bother to steal the Porsche valve caps off my 911?? Annoying little bastards!

Rant over.

Has happened multiple times to me. The Turbo twists now boast some very fashionable black plastic ones as I have given up to the theiving sh!tes.

Glad it's not just me! I can't beleive a fellow Porsche owner would do this, so I'm assuming the last three sets I've had nicked are on tricked out Novas.

Theiving w@nkers!

I'm back to standard black rubber ones after visiting a relative on a council estate. I'm sure some little toe-rags have my alloy ones on their bikes.

The only answer I can think of is "why would you bother to buy Porsche valve caps". The answer is in that they are so minor yet you buy them and consequently it's something they will steal.

They cost £1.50 for a metal set at Halfords. I can't see why the little shíts would steal something of so little worth.

Slightly O/T, but why when you type w@nker does it generate a link to your email? I originally described our thieving friends as w@nkers and then edited it to sh!tes! Is this a profanity filter thing? Just curious, Hugh.

Also, in a similar vein, I have purchased replacement centre caps off of eBay because, as we all know, Porsche insist on glueing the lovely enamel badge to the plastic with shitty, home-made, egg-yolk glue. This means that when you go for a thrash (or at least when I do) you occasionally return minus an enamel insert. Also, I once powerwashed the wheels (not even that powerful, but certainly stronger than a dog cocking its leg against your wheel) and caused one of them to fly off and embed in the garage door! Anyway, the point is, after purchasing said centre caps off eBay I began thinking that maybe a similar group of society had procured them illicitly from a fellow Porsche owner. Should I feel guilty, or not?

I think it's just the @ sign causing the system to think it's an email address. It certainly isn't my email address! I thought I'd make the 'a' an @ sign so that the moderator didn't cancel my post.

The penny dropped shortly after I made the post. If you click on w@nker it fires up Outlook all ready to send an email. It would be interesting to do so...we'd all probably get one!!!

Guys! This isn't the Ferrari forum. Get a grip, those little black dust caps work just the same and don't go missing...

A few years ago, one of my friends got so annoyed about losing his valve caps that he bought a new set and then set about sharpening the edges and then put them on the tyres using heavy duty gloves.

Sure enough a couple of weeks later he came out of the Trafford Centre to find that someone had nicked 1 valve cap but there was a satisfying amount of blood on the alloys tongue out !! I guess they didn't fancy the other 3 caps.....
