Well after six months of prevarication on behalf of Her Indoors, we finally have a new family chariot - a 2005MY Range Rover Vogue V8. I thought she'd never make up her mind, after all the dithering over Cayennes and god knows what else. Still, there's finally light at the end of the tunnel and we pick the car up later this week. What's more, being young, it still has LR warranty left (10 months or so worth), has only 16k on the clock, and better yet, popped up on Autotrader only 10 miles from us, just as I was thinking I'd have to trawl to Scotland to see the only other one that had caught our eye! Result!

Hope you don't mind, but I shall doubtless be popping up again here from time to time asking silly questions...

Erm.... blue. With a hint of blue. Not sure what the colour is called - it's not the very dark Westminster Blue, nor the very light one, but somewhere in between! Looking on the current 2007MY colour list I'm guessing it's Cairns blue, but not sure! Interior is light leather (Parchment?) with blue piping, dashtop and carpets, and the darker shade of wood. In all, it's rather similar inside to the TVR...only a lot higher off the ground.... and more space.... and more toys.... and.... oh alright, the colours are similar! wink

sounds like what they called "Oslo blue" on the P38 ...

having lived in Oslo in the past, i have to say that i could not see the connection myself.

Nice colour though thumbup

Ah so they carried some of the P38 colours over to the 2005 cars did they? That would explain a lot! I shall post some pics to confirm when I actually get my grubby mitts on the car!

Right, here we go - colour is "Cairns Blue"

Interior is erm..... light..... erm.... ivory, with blue dash top and blue piping...

Juts getting my head round how to use the nav / phone etc, especially as the maunals are 2003 because the owner had lost the 05 ones! Doh! Any idea if one can retro-fit Venturecam? On the relevant page it just pops up and says "no camera found" - does this mean they've lost the camera too, or is it just a standard page anyway, whether the cam is with the car or not? Next job is to hunt down an up-to-date nav disc...

Looks very nice. Have a look here for 2005 manuals http://www.landrover.co.uk/gb/en/Owners/about_your... click on 'Take me to the owners information website'

Likewise you can get the DVD updates from here http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinit...

Apologies if these don't come out as clickies, my work pc seems difefrent to my home pc for some reason.

Have a look in the glove compartment for the docking station for the Venturecam,if it's there you can just buy a new cam from the dealer.

Enjoy it:-)

Cheers Camel, what does the docking station look like?

Hard to describe! A receptacle that takes the cam end on so it's about 2" across, 3/4" wide and 1" deep, mines in the top right of the glove box but that's 2007, not sure about yours. If it's there it should be obvious.

Imagine taping a couple of iPods together to make a thicker one and shoving them in end on!

Rightyho, I'll have a look. Many thanks for the info link - LR Main Stealer wanted me to pay £50+VAT this morning for a replacement manual! Now I wonder why they don't tell you..... banghead

All nicely downloaded to desktop now!

With the help of those manuals, I have found the docking station - it's in the cubbyhole by the front passenger's left knee (RHD obviously) Shame there's no cam in it.... frown

Aaah, the've moved it! I shudder to think what it will cost if they want £50 for the manuals though :-(

Hmmm.... do I dare ask them..... frown

Successfully coated the car in mud and sticks this afternoon - monsoon hits Worcestershire and any standing water cascaded over the car and windscreen.... methinks mudflaps are in order, perhaps along with the rubberised side steps..... oh god.... £520+VAT from the main stealers...... dear oh dear....!

Erm.... for looking at parts of the world you can't see from your throne? Off-road usage, so you can keep an eye on a specific part or angle of the car perhaps?

Sugested to the wife we could use it for a spot of dogging,

she was not impresed.
