The search function at the top of the page is always a good place to start,
use the advanced function and enter brakes and then select chimaera.
here is one that I found that might be of interest,
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

also this

I've looked into what discs are available for the chimaera 4.0,4.3,4.5 and 5.0 models and there are only 4 types available for all the models 2 for the front and 2 for the back and they are all from ford cars,

This Information is from the EBC Disc and Pad Handbook
upto 1998.

Car Model Year Disc type Front Disc type Rear

4.0 Chim Early DO86 Vented D280 Solid
4.0 Chim Later D216 Vented D558 Vented

4.3 Chim 93-94 D086 Vented D280 Solid
4.3 Chim Later D216 Vented D558 vented

4.5 Chim 97-98 D216 Vented D558 Vented
5.0 Chim 94 on D216 Vented D558 Vented

The 240MM Diameter front disc is a D086
while the other is D216 a bigger disc.

EBC Greenstuff Pads are listed as follows

Front D086 - EBCG2415
Front D216 - EBCG2002

Rear For all cars whether Vented or solid - EBCG2617

If you want to cross reference the discs with other manufacturers such as Tarox,Red dot,Etc here are the original part numbers for the above discs.

Disc Original part number Disc type.

D086 - 5022659 Vented
D280 - 1637969 Solid
D216 - 6169974 Vented
D558 - 5024175 Vented

thanks. would i be correct in saying that the front discs are from a escort rs turbo and speaking to local motor factors i could ask for 1990 escort rs t front brake discs and they would bolt straight on.as the ebc ones are expensive and i only want cheap to get through mot and may think about upgrading to drilled etc at later date when i have more cash.

I think so,
at the bottom of this link appears a list of cars that the discs are off.

Be sure to measure the hub height. Yours will probably be 53mm, not 58mm, which is a different disc from the 216. The current EBC catalogue lists both and I think the 53mm hubs are 150. Also, the EBC catalogue now only lists Red Stuff pads as suitable. Hope this helps

Total depth, face to face of disc.
