Not sure how this has happened. I've been a car fan since I was little. I cant remember what I did yesterday but i can rememer usless facts about supercars and recognise just about any (performance) car on the road from the tinyest of details.
I also spend a fortune on car magazines a month.

But Some how these Ultima's have slipped me by, and they look amazing! I especialy like stigs Blue Ultima looks the dogs! Oh and the supercharged 6.3 litre engine helps

Another car to add to my list when I win the lottery

Where can I get more Info on these cars?

And your from England too!

Just do a google search. Go to Ultima's website. www.ultimasports.co.uk/ they have some articles. Check out www.brammo.com I like their site. Click on peoples names here cuz a few have their own sites on the build process. Google search finds alot this. www.ultimaclub.com has links to build sites. Do a search for the Stealth B6 Sport too it's a little like the Ultima. If the bug has really bitten you, you might start searching for the most insane chevy engine builder. Oh yeah and don't froget to check website "links" button and that often finds more info.

Unfortunately I have to pay for one in cash. Most of you are lucky b@stards who can just use proof of income and apply for loans.

Italiano,

All you need now is someone from the ATO (Australian Taxation Office) to be reading this thread....

Hmmmm, well its not that we should talk about taxes etc. in this forum, but don't feel sorry for you self paying tax in Oz.
I live in Denmark (am a dane) with my Australian girlfriend so I know both worlds.
You see in Denmark we do have the highest tax rate in the world, and we have some of the highest tax rates on cars in the world as well.
Everything you make more than £ 20.000 a year you pay 69.9% in tax of, and below that it's around 50%. Yep you are right, almost 70%.

Well when it comes to cars, you hardly ever see any nice cars here, because there is all together 220% tax on cars in this country.
Well that's £37.000 for a Golf 1.9 TDI 150 BHP. (Brutto prices has been pushed to a very low level by the car companies, so it is not 220% on to of a British price)

I think you should be happy to live in Sydney (and you have a Danish design opera house to look at)

And people ask me why we want to move back to the UK !!!!!

l read recently that the Danes are the happiest people in Europe. To be honest, at that tax rate l would be less than happy.
By the way, l had heard that Danes are disinclined to look too happy (now we know why) and can take laughter lessons. Is there any truth in this?

Well GD1,

You win! But our tax rates arent much better (48.5% top rate)

How on earth do you danes ever buy any new cars etc?
You guys must have one hell of a black (cash) economy going on! Weve had a GST (VAT) for a couple of years now...was supposed to stamp out the cash economy, but I think that its doubled it!

How do you guys live like that? Taxation isn't light, but it sounds like a dream compared to your conditions. It's enough to become the citizen of another nation (I would). That's robbery.

Cars aren't exactly cheap here. We pay quite a bit more than the americans. A new 996TT there costs $150k US, over here you can add another 50k+
A vette there might cost 40k, here you'd be lucky to find any 2nd handers for as low as that. A 2nd hand, early 90s viper will cost around 100k here. A new viper is something like 160k.

Over in the states, you can get a 2nd hand diablo for just over 100k. Here, you'd be lucky to get one for just a bit less than 200k.

Still, we get it pretty decent compared to a number of other countries.

I just wish I could apply for leasing/loans etc. Might be able to afford that diablo.
