Hi there,

Headed up to Elvington airfield in Yorkshire this morning for the 6th Gear experience day. Was a great chance to meet up with Simon, Andy and David again and see there superb cars being driven by the general public.

Managed to get loads of pictures of the event, here are just a few: -

1) Due to the fact Simons car is away at the factory for repair a spare was drafted in from the subs bench.

2) Gorgeous 360 Challenge Stradale and a nice 360 Modena

3) Murcielago and Gallardo out on track

4) Gallardo being put through its paces

5) 360 Challenge Stradale on the home straight

6) 360 heads back to the pits

7) For saying he was a member of the general public he is really giving it some !

8) V8 Vantage - sounds superb at full tilt.

Hope you like the pics, I had a fantastic day out as usual.

Regards

Tim

Andy/Simon,
Are there any other requirements other than a Full UK Licence? Such as a minimum age?

Next dates are 11 Aug & 19/20 Sept at Elvington. Dunno if the mods will allow me to put the address but its www.6thgearexperience.com
If its a pistonheader I'm sure we could do a deal on the book prices.

Wow £200 for afew laps of the track. And I have been letting my friends drive for free. I think I have come up with my new money making scheme. (Polarbert - V15 Ben you both owe me £400).

Hi there,

The camera I use is an Olympus E-500 with the 40-150mm lense. I have had this for about 18 months now and must have taken over 10,000 pics with it. It is a great camera and gives really good results.

Thanks

Any recommendations for a nice simple point and shoot digital camera for up to £200?

Without trying to do a sales pitch, because we have all worked for other experience companies and seen how they operate, we have tried to make 6th gear alot more customer focused and try to give real value for money.

To date we have not had one single complaint and everyone seems to go home with a smile on their face.
As for rev limits, alot of the time its down to the discrection of the instructor as to how well you can drive. Mostly I inform customers that there is a 6K rpm limit due to noise reasons, as Elvington has quite strict noise regulations courtesy of some local busy body!!

If anyone does fancy having a go our next date is August 11th and we would offer a discount for fellow PHer's.

Andy.

Im also gonna start charging you for rides around town. I must drive you Polarbert or Scissorhands about 100 miles everyday. Its no wonder i get through petrol like theres no tomoro. Good job I get plenty of Nectar points.
