funny calipers, low pedal

I have rebuilt the front brake calipers on my elan+2 {2 piston type}, chnged hoses for steel type, rebuilt master cylinder and replaced servo, after lots of bleeding etc I cant get a decent pedal. One pad on each front caliper pulls back and leaves the pad loose rather than just off the disc. The disc runout is less than 2 thou so its not pushing the pads back, I am running out of ideas, HELP!! John

Found the problem, faulty new pistons, not a big enough radius on the back edge so the fluid was pushing the pistons sideways instead of outwards, a grinder solved the problem,
