I was down at Le Mans this weekend for the test weekend. The general entrance tickets now have barcodes on them and on entry into and out of the track the ticket was scanned with a barcode. I think they are going to do the same with the camping passes.

This could mean it takes longer to get into the track, as the scanning wasn't particularly quick.

Heh, just you wait!

If you take it that it was slow now - with everyone using nice, virgin passes just wait to see how long it takes when these same passes (and their bar codes) have be slept on/cruched/had beer spilt on them.

The scanners aren't going to like it up 'em.

I posted about this several months ago. Be very careful with parking tickets too since the scanning system will recognise if a car with that bar code is already in the camp site, so any scanned ticket will result in one of the cars remaining outside no matter if it is the real or the scanned copy. You have been warned. My press passes were also scanned at each and every place I went this weekend.

If you buy one ticket between the two of you, or lend your ticket to your mates... they will know if that ticket is In or Out.

So, if you let your mate drive in, then grab the ticket, and try to drive in, you'll get bumped - that ticket is already in.

And I guess similar would apply to tickets bought off ebay. If the seller has copied your tickets and gets there before you, you could be screwed. That's if the copy is good enough I suppose.

The guys on the gate were very slow and unfamiliar with the scanners - Arnage/Mulsanne they didn't bother with them

I've got a handful of tickets for others who are arriving during the week - I'm gonna have to be careful I use the right tickets at the right time. I can see me disappearing out to the gate to let new arrivals in and discovering I've got tickets that we have used to get in already.

We've got enough tickets to go round but, think I'm going to have to label them up so I don't get confused and look dodgy!

Are they still getting little stickers for media centre access and for the Tribune or is that now printed on the passes? I take it you still have to have the baby tags.
