I am going to invest in a new Video Camera for LeMans.

Would appreciate advice on the best use of a limited budget (Under 500)

Cheers

What kind of camera you looking for? A proper handycam or a digital still taker (with large memory card) that also shoots film?

The former. I already have a Sony Dscp12 for small Mpegs.

Bought one of these the other day.
Small enough to slip into your pocket (size of a mobile phone) and will do 2hr video on a 2GB card. Cheap enough not to worry too much if you lose it in a drunken haze at LM!

Not sure if you are interested. But I recently bought this http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/dogcampro520.htm excellent quality, I use it more for taking vids of runs we go on. I have it hooked up and recording to a Achros 404 camcorder. The 404 Camcorder is about £250 and still has good quality recording and a 30g memory.
