not happy with my bodyshop repairs - advice please...
Discussion
so i got my grey 968 cab resprayed inc some rust repairs.
at first look the car seemed pretty good and the rust repair work was done to a very high standard.
however...on closer inspection i wasn't happy with two things....
1 very light bubbling on bonnet - this was hardly noticeable and i wasn't going to get it done thus avoiding the bonnet being resprayed at all but the bodyshop advised me to do it. but now the car's back i see that not all the bubbling has gone and there's still 2-3 small one inch square areas.
2 stone chips - many of the chips on the bonnet and front bumper have been painted in rather than repaired. the quote said "prepare, prime and topcoat" and I would expect this to mean that the chips would now not be visible. but many still are...
the body shop has defended themselves by saying that the bubbling on the bonnet has come back through (but i'd only had the car back 1 day when i spotted it!)
and they said that they couldn't fully repair all the stone chips for the price we'd agreed (but no mention was ever made of there being a limit and i'd have expected them all to be done without hearing any differently).
i haven't paid a penny for the work yet and need to call them back, so i was wondering what opinions people had about this.
thanks as always.

ask them if this is the standard of work they normally do and if they guy would accept that finish on his own car

so why did he mention it after?using the same lines of argument you could have said that you weren't willing to pay the full amount as the work is incomplete - you didn't mention it at the time as you assumed he knew
t
t - really narks me off when people try it on like thisnot porsche approved but recommended by my local porsche independent.
the guy also had the car for over five weeks (!) and, having sold the 993, i can't let him have it back to do the job properly as i need the car for my daily commute.
i'm thinking of refusing to pay for the affected panels ie the bonnet and the front bumper.
