i just have a few questions and wondered if anyone can answer them:

1) when i'm driving the car on country roads and i go in and out of a dip a get a 'scraping/scuffing' noise from the passenger side. i think its the wheel rubbing on the arch but i can't see anything. it has happened a few times now and wondered if anyone else had experienced this?

2) in the drivers foot well on the right side there is an area where the ecu sits. can some on tell me how the ecu should be positioned in there as i was driving and the ecu feel out and also a black square cover with velcro on it...it nearly killed me. i have had a look and for the life of me i can't see how it all fits back

any pics of this are would be appreciated.

cheers

ECU screws up onto 'roof' of bulkhead. Image the most hard-to-reach location. It fits there with 2 butterfly screw thingys (except mine has only ever had one). I assume yours are now lost in the back of the pedal box area.

i just wish people would put stuff back correctly when your car goes in for a service....it annoys me so much, and considering how much we have to pay its the least they could do...

cheers for that i will have a good look tonight

Had the exact same thing happen to me. Scary stuff!

God knows if I put all of the ECUs etc. back in place after investigating what was getting in the way down there. None of the ECUs etc. down in the footwell were attached to any part of the bulk head, it would be nice if it was.

My cover has the hook side of velcro on the back of it to keep it in place. So when you try and 'stick' it in place it keeps getting stuck on the carpet etc. meaning it is very hard to possition (especially in such an awkward position). One tip a mechanic at TVR Power gave me was to use a piece of paper to cover the velcro until you have it in place. Sounds like a good idea but I've not tried it recently.

It is probably the tyre rubbing - is the tyre nice and clean looking on the edge? Or it could be a loose bush/worn suspension joint/noisy shock absorber.

I had heard somewhere on here they are 10mm closer on the passenger side as the body is not quite square on?

Thats what i thought. the car has only done 1K so it can't be worn, it does sound like the tyre but could not see anything....looked all around the car and can't see any scuffs....oh well i will wait till it happens again..cheers
