vixen passenger door
Discussion
Help.
Passenger door on my vixen s2 won't open, both outer button and inner handle do not move, I've not tried using any significant force as don't want to damage anything, I can get to the upper inner door panel screws but front retainers appear to be behind body aperture flange, any other way of getting it open??
cheers

I had a look at mine last night and I can't see a way of opening it without removing the inner door panel. I presume you have removed the door pull, window winder and interior door opener so will the top of the inner panel bend out sufficiantly to let you get some penetrating oil onto the door mechanism or your arm in to see if you can unlock it. The only other suggestion I can think of is that you should be able to get to the rear of the striker plate on the body from the inner panel behind the door. Maybe you could grind off the nuts that hold the striker plate to the body and then you would be able to open the door.

Of course someone else may have a better idea.

If neither will move it is most likely the catch mchanism is seized. Try squirting penetrating oil onto the mechanism down the back of the door, leave it a couple of hours and try the handles again. Because the inner door trim is a fibreglass panel it is very difficult to bend it sufficiently to get your hand down the back. If all else fails I do have some inner panels spare Steve
