2.5 Boxter won't release key

Hi, if hood and windows are down i can't get the key out of the ignition...any ideas please..i think it might be related to when in park the red gear indicator say's its in reverse

it will be the linkage on the gearbox it will be partially seized..... very common on boxster gearboxes ,there is a repair kit available but some persistance and lube spray will sort it out..or book it in to a specialist..

If its not the linkage, the key lock cable can be adjusted, you should feel the ignition barrel tighten slightly as you turn the key to remove it, this locks the lever in park and allows you to remove the key.

There was a recall to check the adjustment of the keylock cable, check your chassis with any OPC
