Recently, I've noticed a whirring sound at low speed when i turn corners or set off from stationary and turn left or right.

I've checked the power steering oil and thats fine.

Car's just had a normal service, done 17k miles, is a mk1 gt3.

Any ideas - i'll be taking it to get it seen but wondered if anyone had experienced similar.

thanks

Ajit.

Could very well be a busted ball bearing, easy and cheap to fix.

I drove JeremeyC's mk1 before he bought it - the diff shunt is fairly noticable at low speed

yeah it sounds like the Diff.....nothing to worry about on GT3'S thats unless your diff falls out then there may be a issue...... ;-)

Had a similar thing with my C4. Turned out it was one of the brake shield veins hitting against a section of a corroded disc. Discs replaced, veins all straightened, problem gone.

Do check that the diff is actually working too. They've been known to go at much lower mileages.

If replacing, get the Motorsport one - price is similar (circa £600) although takes longer to fit due to having to load it up properly, but it's better and will last longer.

...it's probably the bling bling spinning chrome hub caps. Same noise occurs on Escalades, I hear.

Does it do that even in low speed corners?
